sunflowerDown the road from the Bighead River, and tucked into the lee of the Niagara Escarpment, you can find our fields of hops.

Our farm borders a conservation area that contains a rare stand of primeval forest and the beautiful Rocklyn Creek. Time spent in the Marshall Woods always strengthens our resolve to preserve and extend the rare biodiversity that we live alongside. We have an aversion to petrochemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.

Growing a good crop without these crutches requires great observation skills, diligence, ingenuity and a healthy amount of physical labour. Preventing losses from disease and pest problems means keeping your crop strong enough to repel or withstand challenges.

We are out in the fields everyday, assessing our bines’ health. When we do need to intervene, we do so minimally, with natural methods, staying well within the parameters of good organic practice. We are certified by Pro-Cert.
